Fun Facts
I am very passionate about both music and football. I was very fortunate to combine these two passions through my time in the UCLA Marching Band! Band provided me an opportunity to continue pursuing music in college while contributing positively to the athletic environment at UCLA. I am one of three siblings, and grew up in Fresno, California. I love the outdoors, and a goal of mine is to visit all National Parks west of the Rocky Mountains!
About Me
I am a Graduate Student in Bioengineering at UCLA. I graduated from UCLA in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering with an Emphasis in Engineering Mathematics. My ultimate goal is to be a Process Development Engineer in the Biotechnology Industry.
Experience
I have always been passionate about education in mathematics, frequently leading peer review sessions in high school. I carried this experience into my undergraduate math classes at UCLA, providing guidance during study sessions with my peers. I have also engaged in multiple one on one tutoring sessions with fellow engineers for courses I had already completed. I look forward to being a Teaching Assistant at UCLA as part of my Graduate School education, and to expanding my skills as an educator.
Approach
I believe gaining knowledge is catalyzed by individuals invested in your educational journey. My educational experience was greatly enhanced through thoughtfully collaborating with peers and educators. I look to provide that experience in my tutoring sessions, embracing each exercise as a opportunity to collaborate thoughtfully. I hope to inspire students to pursue the best answer, not just the first answer, and develop the intuition and skills for success in all aspects of their classes.

Drums Tutoring
I was a member of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band in the percussion section. I marched during halftime shows playing bass drum, but played both quad toms and cymbals for various marching band performances. I have been playing drum set for 11 years, and was a member of my high school jazz ensemble.

As an undergraduate researcher, one of my main responsibilities was generating scientific figures using Adobe Illustrator. I have used Adobe illustrator for 2 years, and am very familiar with its various functions, as many of the figures I have generated were used in oral presentations and posters presented around the world.
