About Me
I’m an experienced GACE Certified instructor with over 10 years experience in Early Childhood, private school, and public school experience. I have provided one-on-one tutoring with students in my area for the past 7 months. I’m looking forward to continue working one-on-one in order to provide a more engaging learning environment for students that are not quite eager to learn in a larger group setting.
Experience
While working in Early Childhood education, I pursued a degree in Journalism and Communications. From there I decided to get a teaching degree and join the public school system by becoming certified to teach children with learning disabilities and social challenges.
Approach
No two children are alike, therefore they shouldn’t be expected to learn in the same way. I was never able to connect with my teachers as a child. It always seems they were too busy with other students to reach out to me. My personal experience in school is what prompted me to reach out to those who may not have the strength to have their voices heard inside of the classroom. No judgment. No criticism. Just listening and understanding.

Journalism
English Tutoring
Punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, and basic components to constructing a sentence was heavily emphasized while sitting for the GACE exam. My assistance with special needs students in a small setting gave me the experience needed to instruct students with challenging learning disabilities.
Math Tutoring
Working one-on-one with students grade K-5 have given me the tools that I need to promote confidence and simplicity in math related subjects. Instructing one student at a time allows for more focus on specific issues to zoom in on and make changes in math skills. GACE focused heavily on math, therefore my passing score qualifies me to teach math on an elementary level.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring
Reading comprehension is a strength utilized during writing and research essays while taking college courses. This was a skill to proofreading, critiquing, and editing written assignments. Working with small groups of students to help overcome specific challenges in reading comprehension by building skills of confidence through articulation.
Writing Tutoring
I majored in Journalism with a minor in communications. I took an extensive amount of courses aimed at developing public speaking, writing and research related assignments. Writing prompts, words your way, and other various writing mechanisms were implemented each day to help build vocabulary with the ability to compile words to formulate articulate sentences.
