Fun Facts
I am an avid trumpet player. I played and competed at a high level in high school. At Texas A&M University, I was in the A&M Symphonic Band for several years and played at some fantastic venues in Texas. One of the best times I have had as a player was being a member of a community band in a mid-west town that gave weekly concerts each summer. I have taught trumpet lessons and served as a judge for junior high level competitions.
About Me
My wife and I have five kids: one in college, two in high school, and two in elementary school. I have an electrical engineering degree from Texas A&M University, a seminary degree, and I have been a church pastor since 2001. I have lived in Houston for over thirty years.
Experience
I have twenty years of experience in education in church, music, and academic settings. I have served as a tutor to high school, junior high, and elementary students in classroom and home-education environments and have tutored individual students in high school math, chemistry, and physics. I also have ten years of experience as a trumpet private lesson instructor.
Approach
My goal is to help explain concepts in a step-by-step method, breaking complex concepts down and systematically working through subject matter to help students understand and feel more confident. Maintaining an encouraging learning environment is a top priority.
