Fun Facts

It might be obvious, but I love reading and writing. Some of my favorite authors are Ray Bradbury, Scott Westerfeld, and Margaret Attwood. I also knit and crochet, which I taught myself when I was 14 from videos and articles! I have two cats names Sam and Kenway, one of which was rescued from Baltimore by a friend. I hope to become an author someday and inspire people with my words.

About Me

I am a freelance writer and editor. I graduated from the baltimore">University of Baltimore with a Masters in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts and a 3.65 GPA. I received my BA in Writing at connecticut-state-university">Western Connecticut State University. I studied not only writing, but grammar and syntax, teaching, and graphic design during my schooling. I hope to one day become a published author and a professor.

Experience

During my undergraduate experience, I tutored peers in writing and grammar. In graduate school, I worked at the Academic Learning Center as a Writing Consultant. My work consisted of going over papers, essays, homework, or any other material students brought in. I would go over concepts, themes, MLA and APA formatting, and thesis statements as well as grammar and sentence structure as needed.

Approach

I've always loved learning, but I understood that it doesn't always come easy. I watched my older brother struggle in high school with math and science because the way that it was taught just didn't mesh with how his brain worked. As a tutor, I want to meet students where they're at and craft their learning around them. I think that using multiple ways of teaching can better help students grasp difficult concepts and create better study habits, and that's where tutoring can really help.
