Fun Facts
I absolutely adore elephants, I think they are one of the most intelligent animals in jungle and I hope to visit Thailand one day to volunteer at their elephant center. I was born and raised in Nigeria and I moved to the United States about eight years ago. It was definitely a massive culture shock but I loved every experience. I was in choir throughout high school and I was in an accapella group in college.
About Me
I recently graduated with honors from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in business. I was on the dean's list from sophomore year all through my senior year. I am currently taking a gap year but I am in the process of applying to dental school with the hopes of owning my dental clinic.
Experience
While attending Texas A&M, I was a math and reading tutor at a local elementary school in town for three years. As a tutor, I was responsible for helping the kids with any school-related assignment ranging from homework, classwork, projects, and STAAR test preparation. During my third year at the job, I was promoted to site coordinator, where I took on administrative roles, but I continued to tutoring, which is where my passion lies. Additionally, I was an undergrad anatomy teaching assistant.
Approach
I remember as a child, I struggled in school. I would get discouraged when I got bad grades. It wasn't until I got an after school tutor that was when I began to progress academically. I love for math and science blossomed and through persistence and hard work, I flourished. My goal as a tutor is to instill confidence in my students throughout the learning process. I understand every learner is unique so I hope to bring my years of experiences with different learners to each tutoring session.
