Fun Facts
I have been an athlete my entire life, as I was a swimmer from age 5 through college. While I no longer compete, I still love to do outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, biking, and yoga. I also love music and play guitar in my spare time. Another passion of mine is cooking, as I love to experiment with recipes and make them my own!
About Me
I am a current graduate student at SDSU working on a double master's degree in Exercise Physiology and Nutritional Science. I plan on getting my Ph. D afterwards while working and researching. My ultimate goal is to be a college professor and conduct research on the benefits of exercise and diet on chronic diseases.
I have been a tutor for over six years in all subjects. I predominantly teach in the sciences and math, however am comfortable teaching all ages in any subjects except languages. I love to teach, as I find if fulfilling and in line with my future goals!
When I tutor I like to review and "talk out" the material with the student. I give real world examples and analogies that relate to the student's life in order to make the information applicable and relatable. After discussing the material, I will work through a few examples with the student before having them try problems on their own. If I feel there is good understanding, we move on to the next subject. If not, we will review where the misunderstanding is and correct the problem before moving on.
