Fun Facts

I am adopted! I grew up with 3 older brothers who look different from me but that just makes me more fun. My adoptive family is Native American so I learn about the Pottawatomie Tribe and I am involved with local powwows.

About Me

I am currently a Graduate student studying TESOL and I hope to get my Masters within a year. When I graduate I hope to continue my education and get my PhD because I was to teach at the University level. I like English education but I also enjoy counseling and mentoring. I hope to be an Academic Advisor in the future.

Experience

I just returned to the country from Japan. I was teaching abroad for two years to gain experience in ESL. I taught high school language learners and also helped/organized with Speech Contests and English Club. I graduated with my BA in TEFL in 2017. I hope to be a teacher that can address the needs of my students in English education.

Approach

My mom was a GED teacher but her style was always personalized to meet the needs of her students individually. I want to be a mentor that can make a connection with the student and help them grow as an individual like my mom did with her students. As a tutor I will use this approach and really build trust between us so that not only the student but myself can flourish.
