Fun Facts
In the free time I have, I enjoy playing soccer and football. I have been playing both since I was 5 years old and my passion for each sport simply has never changed. Additionally, I am an avid skiier and try to hit the slopes whenever I can (this winter has been especially great with all the snow!). I love to travel when I have free time and have spent time abroad living in Costa Rica.
About Me
I was born and raised in Lancaster, Pa and attended the Schreyer Honors College at Pennsylvania State University. There, I majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and also added a minor in Spanish. My cumulative GPA in the Honors Program was 3.67 and I made Dean's List in all but 2 semesters while at PSU. Currently, I am a 4th year medical student at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia with plans of going into Orthopedic Surgery.
At my high school, I was a member of the National Spanish Honor Society and so I tutored elementary and middle school students twice per week. Additionally, I volunteered to teach Math to the same age group. One time every week, I would also travel to a neighboring inner city school and help English as a Second Language students with reading and composition. In college, as I began to focus more on my career path and major, I tutored freshmen and sophomore in biology, chemistry and biochemistry.
My grandfather, a business professor at Penn State and life-long lover of knowledge and education was a major influence on who I am as a person. I can still recall Sunday morning breakfasts with him where he asked me and my brother trivia questions on everything from the animal kingdom to American history. If ever I did not understand something he had such a way of asking other similar questions to help me understand the problem at hand in a step-wise fashion. I bring that model of leading my students to the answer without ever giving it away to my philadelphia">tutoring positions. That combined with extraordinary patience gives me an advantage with instructing students.
