Fun Facts
I love spanish culture and everything about it. My father is Colombian and I was raised talking spanish and english at the same time. I took a gap semester this previous semester and attended a program abroad in Santiago Chile, studying spanish with scholars and washington-dc">tutoring under privileged kids in the slums. It was an unforgettable experience and I hope to one day work abroad in Chile.
About Me
I am 6'3" and my father is Colombian and my mother is Hungarian. I attended High School at Thomas Wootton High School in Potomac Maryland. I graduated with a 3.73 and was also in the spanish society.I am double majoring in spanish and mechanical engineering. With this double major I hope to one day work in a South American country and develop their infrastructure by developing clean energy such as hydroelectricity and wind farms.
As a member of the Spanish honor society I had the opportunity to washington-dc">tutor under grads. I viewed this not only as an opportunity to help struggling student but also as a way to better improve my Spanish. I also had washington-dc">tutoring experience when I was an undergraduate in high school. I was in a program called "After School Study Sessions" where after school I would walk over to the middle school close by and washington-dc">tutor middle school students on any subject ranging from Spanish to history.
After working for 3 months as a washington-dc">tutor in Chile, I have developed the perfect method on teaching students. The main point you have to keep in mind when washington-dc">tutoring a student is the fact that they are confused on something. My method involves finding the route of the problem. Once I find out where the student was lost, I can then start to choose the perfect path which will be the easiest and most effective way for a student to learn.
