Fun Facts
This summer I had the pleasure of driving across this beautiful country with a few of my closest friends on a massive thirty state adventure! We spent over six weeks camping, traveling from one national park to another, exploring the country as much as possible. In my free time I love to read, I actually started out college as a Film/Communication major because I wanted to write for a living!
About Me
I'm a Molecular Biology major at maryland/towson">towson-university">maryland/towson">Towson University and I'm planning on teaching high school biology! I want to go to graduate school to study ecological science, focusing specifically on honey bees. For the past year I've had an entomology-based internship working with termites and their fungal pathogens. After I earn my master's degree I hope to secure a teaching position somewhere in the southwest and simultaneously conduct research to restore the honey bee population!
Growing up as the oldest sibling in a big family, it was always my responsibility to maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor my younger siblings and cousins, so teaching has always been in my nature. I spent a year interning in a half special needs classroom working with a group of fifteen amazing kids. I also spent two years in high school taking a child development course, and recently have been a paid maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor for some middle school children in my neighborhood.
I am in full support of a personal approach when it comes to maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring and education in general. I believe that everyone learns differently and that every student deserves special time and attention. Something that has always helped me is having a game plan when it comes to school work; breaking work into a lot of smaller pieces makes it much more manageable and less overwhelming. I try to do as much as possible to make school work feel less like a chore to be gotten through and more like a challenge to be conquered! I like to use the satisfaction that you get from doing something well and according to plan as a motivation to keep doing well in the future.
