Fun Facts

I don't believe in miracles. I rely on them. Throughout my life, I've been quite lucky thanks to my mom who taught me to believe in myself. I'm the only child in my family who attended college, who owns my own home, and who has traveled overseas, I enjoy going on mini trips to a variety of unique places. Who knows where my travels will take me next! I love my friends because I feel the most confident when I'm surrounded by those who love and support me. My best friend I've known for 34 years.

About Me

Since I was young, I've wanted to be a teacher. My 4th grade teacher really inspired me to pursue a degree in education. She always strived to build a positive rapport with her students. Now that I am retired, I miss that personal contact I had with them. They were the main reason I entered the education field. Now by providing individualized instruction through tutoring, The students that I work with are my top priority.

Experience

Being a National Honor Society member, I had the opportunity to be a camp counselor to 4th and 5th graders. During my 34 years of teaching, I taught and tutored 2nd to 5th grade students who needed extra assistance in and out of the classroom setting. I started tutoring with Club Z! to offer 1-on-1 instruction to bolster students' learning in reading, writing, and math, Frog Tutoring will give me more opportunities to influence more students’ lives, which will be very rewarding.

Approach

As a teacher, I witnessed how difficult it is for all students to succeed in a classroom setting. My objective has always been to encourage all students to do their best. It’s so rewarding to see those "aha" moments in their learning..My tutoring approach varies in some aspects with each student I work with but my goal stays the same - provide positive encouragement and persistence. I believe that any student who can be motivated to learn and will work hard will do better and be more successful.
