I love music because it enriches the soul. I am a singer, a poet and a new songwriter. I participated in ballroom/Latin, liturgical, and modern dance for many years and hope to learn the tango soon. I love to read 18th century literature, participate in community projects/events, encourage environmental sustainability, and love the outdoors.
About Me
At present, I hold an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) with a Marketing concentration. Moreover, I have a double major bachelor degree in Business-Marketing and Latin American Studies with a minor in Accounting. I also have a liberal arts associate degree and a certificate in Global Supply Chain Management. Currently, I am extending my business mindset by pursuing a Music Business degree. My ultimate goal is to be an Intellectual property lawyer or be a logistics executive manager, while simultaneously teaching at a university.
I taught High school for three and a half years and developed an authentic interest in nurturing the cognitive and social growth of students. I implemented new methods such as mixed-ability teaching to facilitate learning to all aptitude levels. Additionally, during my undergraduate studies, at the Educational Opportunity Program, I completed a houston">tutoring course and tutored university peers in comprehending business methods and challenging English topics in reading and writing. I also tutored peers during graduate studies and was excited to be part of the houston">tutor program launch under the auspices of the Dean of Students.
I am excited to be part of the Frog houston">tutoring team and take a holistic approach towards learning, by not only providing solutions specific to the subject matter, but also having a personal stake in the student’s future success. My customized approach to the student’s learning will cater to the student’s specific needs; thus, addressing various learning abilities to ensure that each student grasps the intended concept. I believe in mentoring and grooming students in order to create confidence, to instill life skills for the future, and to encourage them to realize their dreams. I have learned to gain an excellent rapport with students and view a two-way communication process as key to successful teaching.
