I love yoga, reading books, hiking, and camping. I enjoy being near water and swimming whenever I can. I recently moved to Texas from Oregon.

About Me

I am a 1st grade math and science teacher in Dallas ISD. This is my 6th year teaching and I've taught in grades 1-5. I am originally from New Jersey but I have lived in Chicago, IL and Oregon before moving to Dallas! I studied Business Administration at washington-university">George Washington University, and received my Masters in Elementary Education from the chicago">University of Illinois at Chicago. I am certified to teach K-8. I love working with students and being a part of their growth.

Experience

I'm a classroom teacher with extensive experience with whole group, small group, and 1-1 teaching with diverse children. I have taught for 6 years in 1st grade through 5th grade in urban areas including Chicago, Portland, OR, and Dallas, TX. Each year in the classroom has broadened my knowledge and skills in serving youth and imparting skills, identity building, and love for knowledge.

Approach

I am relationship-centered and value joy in learning. I aim to cultivate culturally relevant learning experiences where the content is gained in a meaningful way. I believe in consistent practice, strong routines, gaining multiple data points, the power of play, and giving students tools to regulate stress/trauma, and cultivate a growth mindset.
