Fun Facts
Ever since I was young I have loved to sing. During high school I was a part of two choirs, and in college I joined an a cappella group. Dancing is also one of my favorite activities. When I studied abroad in Madrid, I took a Latin dance class which was a lot of fun! Baking is another passion of mine. I love to make something yummy whenever I have free time. I also really enjoy going on hikes in the mountains with my family and just love taking in the views from the peaks.
About Me
I recently graduated from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience & Behavior and Hispanic Literatures & Cultures. One day, I hope to go back to school to get my Social Work degree and become a mental health therapist. While attending classes, I was also a member of an a cappella group and President of Rho Epsilon Pi sorority which focused on social justice and community service issues.
Experience
I have always enjoyed learning and relish any opportunity to help others feel similarly. In high school, I worked with a middle school student several times a week where I assisted him with his homework and larger projects. I also worked for two years as a teaching assistant at my synagogue’s Hebrew school. While there, I helped with both group and individual instruction. Additionally, when I was living with a family in Costa Rica, I guided their young daughter through her English homework.
Approach
I have enjoyed teaching roles in the past and feel especially fulfilled when I am working directly with people. What inspires me most in when a student begins to understand something that was previously difficult. Beyond improving upon academic skills, I hope to inspire enthusiasm for the subject matter. First, I like to identify any areas of insecurity in the student and then work to build confidence so that even outside of a tutoring session they can feel certain about their abilities.
