Fun Facts
I love planes, I love the beach and I love Math! The cool thing is it is easy to do Math on planes and on the beach!
And I really enjoy dogs, especially big dogs. So I won;t be scared if you have big dogs at home. (and I grew with both dogs and cats so I also enjoy cats but we all know they like to do their won thing anyway)
About Me
I have been in the US for 18 years. I did my undergraduate education in Mathematics in France. Then I obtained a Ph.D in Mathematics from the University of Southern California. I have been a college professor for 12 years now.
Most people will say they hate math but if you create the right environment and ask them the right questions, you get to see that look of satisfaction and pride on their face when they find the solution. And that is what is why I enjoy tutoring one on one.
Experience
I have been a college Math professor for 12 years, teaching many different classes to students with very diverse backgrounds. I also teach mathematics for summer programs preparing high schools students to succeed in college math classes.
At the high school levels, I have taught algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, precalculus and calculus At the college level, I have taught Precalculus, the entire Calculus sequence, Business Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and more!
Approach
While teaching Mathematics, I also do research in Mathematics Education. I have many teaching strategies adapted to different styles of learning. I prefer to teach someone how to fish instead of giving them the fish but I also know how to help students learn efficiently to be prepared for the tests. Listening to the student is essential. I know how to adapt teaching techniques to the goals of the students, whether they are long or short term ones, all that in a relaxed and focused atmosphere.
