I have a tiny Jack Russell/Chihuahua puppy, Coco, that I love spending time with and taking out on walks. She knows how to bark/count up to 5, shake paws, and make friends at every corner!
About Me
I am an Asset Management Specialist for a non-profit organization in Santa Clara. I am looking to explore the option of switching careers to education.
Experience
I had spent two years tutoring K-12 students with the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement while getting my Bachelors of Science in Business Administration at San Francisco State University.
As a child I had always wanted to teach; however being a tutor confirmed how rewarding the teaching process could be. I grew fond of engaging with students and learning new ways to help them reach an understanding of the subject matter; so much so that it earned me solicitations from parents wanting
Approach
My approach is to first understand how a child learns by trying out different methods; sometimes for example, it means using props that children can touch and visualize if they are kinesthetic or visual learners. It also helps to listen to their interests to gauge a child's imagination and explore the subject matter in that space.
