Fun Facts

I LOVE all types of sports, including basketball, tennis, billiards, badminton, and ping-pong! I am always looking for opportunities to play these sports with friends. If I am not on the playing field, you will probably find me in the kitchen, either cooking or eating! I really enjoy creating my own recipes and experimenting with different flavors.

About Me

My name is Albert Sugianto and I am originally from Indonesia. I am a recent graduate from chicago">Loyola University Chicago's Master's program in science/illinois/chicago">computer science. I received the Turing Award for being among the top students in my field of study and completed the degree with a 4.0 GPA! My ultimate goal is to build my own tech company.

Experience

During my two years at chicago">Loyola University Chicago, I was a graduate research and teaching assistant. As a research assistant, I worked with Professor Mark V. Albert and Lurie's Children Hospital on toddler activity recognition, which involved machine learning. I also worked with undergraduate students as part of my role as a teaching assistant. I supported three different professors and taught Object Oriented Programming, Database Programming, and Data Structure. Teaching is one of my passion

Approach

As a tutor, I will always seek to build a strong foundation first for the students and to then dive into the more complex concepts and theories. Whenever a student struggles to understand these concepts, I hope to simplify the problem at hand and to bring real life examples to reinforce their understanding. Beyond understanding just the material, I also hope to teach the students soft skills that will be useful in the real world.
