I am a kind, patient person. I am from Colorado and moved to New Mexico for school. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, or passing time with family and friends. I also like to draw and paint. Some of my other hobbies include yoga, hiking, swimming, and playing soccer.

About Me

I am senior at the University of New Mexico. I am a Sociology major with a concentration in Human Services and Social Policy and an English minor. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.87 and a major GPA of 4.07. After I graduate with my BA from UNM, I plan on attending graduate school. I am applying for a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health. I am currently the president of a campus organization and involved in three honor societies.

Experience

I now have five consecutive years working with students. In high school I volunteered in a Spanish Immersion classroom. After that, I worked for Youth Development Incorporated for two years as a mentor, albuquerque">tutor, and activity leader. Then, I was a albuquerque">tutor for Albuquerque Public Schools for a year and half. I also have experience albuquerque">tutoring privately through Frog albuquerque">Tutoring.

Approach

My albuquerque">tutoring approach is kind and understanding, yet firm enough to get the job done. I always try to encourage my students to do well. I try to albuquerque">tutor from an understanding approach because I do not want my students to get frustrated or embarrassed, and I also truly understand how frustrating it can be to not understand the subject material.
