Fun Facts

I surround myself with books; I always carry a book with me to whip out during my free time. I love to immerse myself in the world of stories whether through books, movies, plays, or musicals. After all of that reading I need to get up and move, and so I swing dance. I was on a swing dance team when I lived in California, and love to jitterbug with the best of them! I love to travel as well.

About Me

I am a junior at University of Colorado Denver pursuing a degree in English Secondary Education. I hope to not stop at my Bachelors degree, but to continue on to a Masters in Secondary Education. I am passionate about English and want to share my love for reading and writing as a high school teacher. I have been on the Dean's List all three years I have been in college, and I truly value the power that education can give students.


In middle school I worked at Kumon denver">Tutoring Center helping students gain skills in both math and reading. During my junior year of high school through my National English Honor Society I assisted younger students with reading-comprehension/colorado/denver">reading comprehension and study skills. In college my passion for helping students learn flourished. As a future teacher, I currently intern at a middle school during the week. This allows me to further begin to master the art of instruction as well as hands-on interactions letting me best learn how to facilitate student understanding. Working as a Frog denver">Tutor allows me to live out my passion for teaching.

Every student has the potential to excel in any subject; however, it can become easy for a student to get lost in the multitude of students. I firmly believe that every student is an unique individual who needs learning that is structured with them in mind. I like to engage the student by making the material pertinent to his or her life, and thus igniting a desire to engage. I am a positive and patient person who will not stop until the material is fully understood. I know how important critical thinking skills are; rather than feed students answers, I lead them along the path to discovering the answers and skills to help them in all of their endeavors.
