About Me
I’m a recently-graduated alumni from California State University, Fresno. While attending, I majored in science/california/fresno">Computer Science and my department accepted my dedication with much appreciation. I am currently looking to step into a Software Engineering position. With long-term goals set on teaching at the college level, I plan on returning to school in the near future.
As a high school senior, while peers worked to free as much time as possible away from their studies, I worried about grabbing “just one more AP class.” I was never afraid to ask for help when needed, and have always tried to return the favor. During college, I ran regular study sessions with classmates, worked as lab instructor for new students, and was always available to help a friend catch-up in their course work. My efforts to aid others academically were very well received, forming many friendships.
I have an aversion towards methods involving memorization, or providing all the answers. When a student is struggling with a subject, they are often finding it difficult to resonate new ideas with their background knowledge. I instruct students by fitting in the basic concepts with what they know already and enabling them to uncover the rest. Additionally, what inspires a student is an enormous factor in positive academic performance. I want to teach others because I feel I can instill a love of the subject in them, rather than a simple understanding, and drive them to pursue further advancement.
