Fun Facts

I am left handed. I absolutely love drawing portraits of people. I am planning to major in Social Work I hosted and managed public relations for an Art Show in 2013, and I was raised by and took care of my grandparents for most of my life. I am also an employee at the California Academy of Sciences.

About Me

I am a currently enrolled Sophomore at San Francisco State University, on the Dean's list, I am 19 years old. I got a 4.01 in high school, and have a 3.9 currently in college. I got the Art High Honors award my senior year and an award for my high GPA.

I've always been extremely avid and conscientious when it comes to school, getting the highest grade on an exam or paper was no great surprise to me in high school. I enjoy the feeling of understanding a difficult subject after many hours of concentration, and I enjoy laying out the underlying details of a problem so that it can appear simple. I love being able to translate difficult problems into my own words and presenting this to students in an orderly fashion so that they can better understand it themselves. I love drawing diagrams, as I've always been a visual learner and I like making stories to help myself (and other people) remember or memorize terms or ideals.

Experience

I have tutored Juniors in high school that were enrolled in the AVID program for 1 year (2013) in integrated algebra and algebra 1, and sometimes history, English and SAT prep. I also tutored a friend every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Philosophy. I currently work Guest Experience at the Academy which involves showing children (and adults) how to appreciate the beauty and promise of science.
