About Me
I am a bilingual Cuban/Colombian psychologist born in Georgia, but raised in Florida. Dean's List recipient at chicago">Loyola University Chicago, as well as Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Member.
Experience
I began tutoring during undergrad @ chicago">Loyola University Chicago. After having such a positive experience my first year with helping others learn, I decided to continue to help others pursue their academic goals. Since then I have tutored throughout South Florida as well as in Northern Spain. I have worked with students with learning disabilities, behavior issues, autism, and cerebral palsy.
Approach
I prefer a Socratic Method educational approach. Giving a student the answers inhibits their ability to problem solve, think outside the box, and develop self-esteem. I use a form of argumentative dialogue via questions to encourage the student to critical think and to expose preconcieved beliefs which may be inhibiting learning of a specific subject.
