Fun Facts

I'm originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but my entire family lives in Pittsburgh. I attended a very small private school where I was the valedictorian and a National Merit Scholar. I'm involved with a few organizations on campus that promote community outreach by teaching local residents about proper nutrition. I also love traveling to new places and taking care of animals!

About Me

I am currently a junior Biology Major with minors in Nutrition and Sociology at Baylor University. I have a 3.98 GPA and have been on the Dean's List for all four semesters I've completed. I hope to one day be accepted into medical school so that I can pursue a career in either neurology or cardiology.

Experience

I've been tutoring students in the middle school and high school age range for about five years. I mostly prefer to teach math and science courses, but I've also helped students with English, history, and some test prep.

Approach

Since each student learns in a slightly different way, I prefer to get to know each student and then use their preferred teaching style. I'm also a big fan of the Socratic method, which uses questions to guide a student's understanding rather than provide them with answers directly. I strongly believe that understanding, not memorization, is the key to learning.
