I am a Marine Corps Veteran. I have experience guiding and mentoring young Marines. I also have houston">tutoring experience that began when I was in high school and continued through college.

About Me

houston">University of Houston- Downtown, Bachelors of Science in Applied Mathematics, Sophomore level. I plan to attend graduate school and receive my M.S in Mathematics.

My houston">tutoring experience began when I was in high school. I began houston">tutoring my peers and preparing them for upcoming exams and tests. When I attended Montgomery College in Maryland, I began houston">tutoring my peers again. This either took place before class or on my days off. I would help them either understand the material we were doing in class or help them catch up. I was able to show them different ways to looking at problems to give them better understanding of mathematical topics and concepts.

I cannot houston">tutor everyone the same because we all learn differently. I like to assess the needs and learning ability of each student before I can effectively assist them. Some students require a better foundation so I may return to earlier concepts to ensure they understand it. Some students learn better with visual aids, so I may have printouts and drawings. Other students may require lots of practice and repetition, so I may have them do many worksheets. It is easier for me to change my approach then it is for a student to change his or hers learning style.
