About Me
I am a sophomore attending Emory University (3.961 GPA). I'm on track to get my degree in Mathematics and Economics before transferring to Georgia Tech to get a second degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. I'm hoping to get into the best grad school I can to pursue a PHd in Economics after I finish this undergrad course load. So far, I have really enjoyed my college experience, but it has required me to change a lot as a learner from high school; I am hoping to share what I have learned.
Experience
I was a member of my high school's national honors society, as through it was able to tutor my peers in the subjects of my choosing. I helped out additionally to tutor math in my high school during study hall whenever I could. The scheduled tutors would often not show up, allowing me to step in. Since coming to school I have been trying to find a way to tutor more since I enjoyed it so much in high school; I've been taking advantage of what was offered through the Economics department.
Approach
I personally have trouble absorbing information that I do not understand conceptually. I hope to be able to break difficult concepts down simply through abstraction and analogy. These tools have been very useful for me. A strength of mine is being able to reword and reframe concepts; this I have found to be particularly helpful in my time tutoring. For those looking for someone to help with developing a study approach, I can emphasize the importance of discipline in work, and developing passion.
