Fun Facts
I love to watch movies, especially movies in other languages and cultures. Baking goes well with movie watching, so there's always some yummy treat in my kitchen. I do lots of crafts, I wish I could do more art.
About Me
I am a graduate from New Mexico State University. I graduated with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. I am currently enrolled at the University of New Mexico, and have received early acceptance to the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. I hope to one day become a surgeon.
I came from an underprivileged high school in southern New Mexico. My family drove home the importance of education and I made the most of mine. I was in honor classes throughout high school and graduated in the top ten percent of my class. As a member of the National Honor Society I participated in regular volunteer work. I also taught a few biology classes at NMSU as an undergraduate student and spent a year working as a substitute teacher.
As the oldest of three girls I have the patience to albuquerque">tutor, and my extra curricular activities have provided me with the communication tools required to teach in different ways depending on each student's particular learning style. Not only is patience important, but I also like to listen to what the student knows, that way I can I can build on their foundation. It is important to be able to relate concepts and theories learned in school to ones which students are already familiar; this makes learning easier to grasp.
