Fun Facts
One passion people quickly learn about me is that I love to travel. Throughout the year, I find time to indulge in self-care by taking two vacations, either out of the country or within the U.SA. I also love helping students with the college application process. Best Fact: I changed my major three times while in college.
About Me
I am a second year graduate student at Brooklyn College. I am currently studying school counseling. In undergrad I majored in Children and youth studies, minored in Sociology. I have five years of experience within the field of youth development. My ultimate goal is to become either a school counselor or a professional within high education.
Experience
As a member of the National Honors society, I had the opportunity to tutor students while I was in high school in both Math and English. While in college I also tutored my peers in college algebra. As a child I always wanted to become a math teacher. Working Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to continue to support students and utilize my pedagogy skills.
Approach
I am aware of the struggle students face when learning difficult content. I myself had an individualize education plan (IEP) while growing up in the NYC public school system. As a result, I realized that having patience, dedication, and persistence with students. Not giving up on students or becoming frustrated is also key.
