About Me
I'm a sophomore Economics and Political Science double degree student with a specialization in Legal Studies at washington/seattle">Seattle U. I did a year of Running Start with Wenetchee Valley college, and made the dean's list all four quarters there.
This fall I will have junior standing, although I plan to graduate in four years with two degrees instead of one. I then plan to go to law school, possibly at SU, and my ultimate goal right now is to become a copyright and contract lawyer.
I worked for a quarter with NLA washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring at Tonasket High School. From January 2012 to June of the same year. I also worked at home with my younger brother and helped him improve his grades in math and science.
My approach to washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring would be to work with students in a positive, and playful way, not only to show them that learning is fun, but so they can make pleasant personal connections with the material we need to learn. Word games, fun quizzes, and positive reinforcement are staples for me as a washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor, and I have had very positive results with them. I also feel like talking on a personal level with the student and making sure that they never feel stupid or inadequate is absolutely vital. I feel that a washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor should be a positive influence at all times and make the student feel confident in their ability to learn by adapting to their unique learning style, and helping them love their material. Being a good role model that's willing to get down to their level helps set a student up for success.
