About Me
I am currently a freshman at the denver">University of Denver. I plan on majoring in business, specifically in Information Technology, as well as minoring in chemistry and biology as I fill prerequisites for dental school. My extracurricular activities include Mock Trial, Club Field Hockey, and Alpha Kappa Psi( a professional business fraternity). I believe my entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, good people skills and great work ethic makes me a good candidate for Frog denver">Tutoring.
My denver">tutoring experience includes volunteering at Each One Teach One, a vocabulary program instilled at Marie L. Greenwood Elementary. As a part of my service project, through my high school, Regis Jesuit, I tutored 3rd through 5th grade students who came from humble minority backgrounds in English Vocabulary for two weeks during the 11th grade. As a denver">tutor at Each One Teach One, I used a specifically proposed method of teaching vocabulary to students through using picture books, embracing the notion that a picture is worth a thousand words. Additionally, through my involvement in National Honors Society, I tutored students at my high school in numerous subjects, including Algebra, Pre-Calculus and English. I cumulatively completed 15 hours of denver">tutoring through National Honors Society.
I challenge students to truly learn. That being said, I stay away from spoon feeding answers and instead guide students to grow their knowledge and skills. I use methods such as showing them examples of math problems and then asking them to figure out a problem that may be similar. I also strive to grow students' confidence and make them realize that they are indeed capable of figuring out math problems, writing great essays, and mastering subject matter.
