Fun Facts
I am interested in science, video games and reading. I play games on my custom built computer I selected the parts for and built myself. When I go to sleep at night I always like having a good fantasy or sci-fi book on hand to read for an hour.
About Me
I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Spring 2011 with BS degrees in Biology and Chemistry. Every since my first high school chemistry class I have wanted to have a career in scientific research. I hope to eventually earn my PhD. in Chemistry and go into research in the bio-tech industry. I am a kind and patient person that likes to help others especially when the help involves teaching them about the field I am most passionate about.
My washington/washington/tacoma">tacoma">tutoring experience began in high school at Bellarmine Preparatory School. As a member of the school's honor society it was my responsibility to assist fellow students struggling in their studies. To that end during my senior year three times a week for a couple of hours after school I went to the washington/washington/tacoma">tacoma">tutoring room where students struggling with basic math courses like algebra went as per their teachers instructions. Whenever a student was not understanding a topic the raised their hand and I went over and explained the topic and guided them to understanding the material. In college, while I did not have a formal position as a washington/washington/tacoma">tacoma">tutor, I helped students around me when they needed it. I enjoy being helpful, especially when that help involves teaching topics I am passionate about.
My approach to washington/washington/tacoma">tacoma">tutoring involves first and foremost making sure the student does not just understand what the answer is but understands the process of getting the answer. Without such an in-depth understanding the material is easily forgotten only days after it is learned. If the process of finding answers is understood not only is that material retained longer but the knowledge of that process can be applied to other similar topics. In this manner learning snowballs with each new topic assisting in the understanding of the next topic. I will do my best to teach a given topic the best I can in the best way for a particular student and ask in turn the student put in their greatest effort when I am and am not present for as with all things we
