Fun Facts

Music is my passion, and I've been playing the trumpet for 13 years now! I play in our Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble here at DePaul, as well as playing different gigs around the city. I also love baseball, and even played on a team from first grade through high school!

About Me

I am currently a Junior at DePaul University, where I major in Music Education. I've been on the Dean's list since my first quarter at DePaul. I will be student teaching in the fall of 2014, and I hope to have a job as a band director and music teacher after I graduate.

In high school I was a member of the "mathlete" team, through which I would chicago">tutor high school students who were struggling with math during my study hall period. I've also given private music lessons to various 5th and 6th grade students for the last four years. I'm currently the music teacher for a first grade class once a week at Jahn Elementary School in Roscoe Village. Although music is what I'm majoring in, I have a passion for math and reading, and I would love to provide help in any area it is needed in!

School for me was overwhelming much of the time, and the amount of homework often seemed too much to handle. I learned to manage my time properly, but it was no easy task, and as a chicago">tutor I plan to help students manage their time in a way that school won't seem so cumbersome. There can be days when students just don't retain all the things they learned during school and homework can seem impossible, but I plan to help students shift through what seems like a confusing mess, and teach them how they can get the answer on their own.
