Fun Facts
I learned to read before kindergarten, and it wasn't long before I started to write my own stories. My favorite genre to read is humor, and my favorite authors are Dave Barry and Jules Feiffer. I love to sing and play the ukulele, especially Beatles songs! On my days off from working at Starbucks, I like to bake chocolate chip cookies and watch movies.
About Me
As of mid-December, I will have my Master's in Creative Writing from Roosevelt University in Chicago. I am originally from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, but after getting my Bachelor's degree in English, I moved to the big city to pursue my dreams. My big goal is to write for television one day, but for now I will work as hard as I can and use my skills to help others.
Experience
As an undergraduate, I was employed by the Marian University Writing Center all four years as a writing tutor. I helped students who came to me with all steps of the writing process, from brainstorming to final proofreading and citations. Working as an online tutor keeps me sharp and allows me to continue helping others succeed.
Approach
I never liked asking for help when I was younger, and I'm still not a fan. As such, my goal is to never make the person I'm helping feel dumb. Not everybody is an expert in everything, so why not help one another? I do my best to help students find problem areas on their own and collaborate with them to find solutions.
