About Me
I am a recent graduate of The Ohio State University where I studied Political Science and Economics. I have excelled academically, but my true inspiration is community service. I have spent the majority of my undergraduate career providing my time to the Columbus community. In the future I hope to translate my passion for leadership and service into a career with students.
I have been columbus">tutoring since I was in high school. I was a math columbus">tutor in the early days with elementary students. As I transitioned into college I wanted to continue columbus">tutoring, so I volunteered with Columbus City Schools and tutored first generation college prep students in math, social studies, and writing. I tutored there for 75 hours my sophomore year. The next year I went back to young children, focusing on literacy at Nationwide Children's Hospital. In addition I have taught pre-law classes to high school students with the National Student Leadership Conference. I have tutored for many years and absolutely love working with students.
My columbus">tutoring style is one of support and appreciation but of self discipline and focus. I provide my students with problems and goals, but instead of holding their hand through the process I give them encouragement to succeed on their own. This process is more rewarding for the student and teaches them that they are self sufficient in their learning. They build their confidence and love for knowledge as they learn how to study and solve general problems so that they can master the details in front of them. I hope to encourage students to reach their full potential.
