Fun Facts

I am the proud mother of 8 kids - all of different species! While I don't have any human children, my wonderful Labrador Retriever, my two crazy cats, my hyperactive chinchilla, my three friendly snakes, and my lazy tarantula are enough to keep me entertained! I enjoy hiking around San Diego and exploring new places and I really really enjoy going to baseball games - I actually played softball for 4 years between middle school and high school.

About Me

I am currently a student at Southwestern College looking to get my second Bachelor's degree through National University in Nursing. I have a Bachelor's from UC Davis in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology and have been working as a veterinary assistant since graduating 3 years ago.

Experience

I used to help my teachers a lot during middle school and high school by working with other students who weren't quite getting the material. In college, I volunteered at an elementary school with a Spanish immersion program and continued helping old high school teachers in their classrooms so I have experience with different age groups and I hope to continue helping other students succeed.

Approach

I understand that there are different types of learners so it's a matter of adjusting the lesson plan to how the student works best. I know frustration can get the best of some students when it seems that they just don't get something but the important part is to not give up, rather it is working until we can find a solution for the both of us that will lead to the student to understand the material.
