Fun Facts
I am an entrepreneur, running my own ecommerce store in renewable energy and outdoor products. I am an avid stock investor, and love investing in technology and renewable energy. I am a big Tesla and Space X fan, I'm left handed and hiked 850 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. I relax with gardening, music, and bonfires.
About Me
I went to high school in Concord, making my way to Appalachian State to go learn art. I changed my major to Renewable Energy because I wanted to be involved in a new and exciting industry and help us become more sustainable as a country. I worked in solar and energy efficiency for a few years and got into doing CAD work for Google and AT&T fiberoptics. I started my own business this year wanting to make my own imprint on renewable energy. I produce blogs, and a youtube channel. Soon a podcast!
Experience
I did well in school, being in honors classes growing up. I thrived in the sciences and in social studies. I like to know how humans got to where they are and where we are going. I feel science and social studies have become inseparable as technology has become a bigger and bigger part of our lives. I have hands on experience in technology, I have people skills and teaching skills having worked at a outdoor summer camp in Colorado leading middle school boys hiking and horseback riding.
Approach
I like to find a students individual learning style and work with them on that. I want them to be passionate about the subject and see how it applies in their lives and the real world. I don't like memorization and believe in developing critical thinking skills. We should not be robots and spit back information, we should be curious and want to learn. I believe increasingly we need to be lifelong learners and have a hunger to learn but also realize that we need to to keep up in today's world.
