
Fun Facts
I am the oldest of my siblings, who range in ages from 18 months to 8 years. Because of this I have a lot of experience with children and am very patient. I have been atlanta">tutoring off and on since junior year of high school in addition to my other hobbies of playing volleyball, swimming, and cooking. My strongest subjects are Spanish and Math, in which I am already experienced in atlanta">tutoring in.
About Me
I am currently attending Georgia State University in the Honors Program. I am a freshman and currently a psychology major, but that is subject to change. My HOPE GPA is a 3.58. I am planning to changing my major to pre- law. After college, I want to attend law school and then go on to become a lawyer. I would do everything I could to excel in my career. I have received honor roll every year of high school, an honors award of excellence for my art, and a leading position in my high school volleyball team.
I first started atlanta">tutoring in my junior year of high school. At this time, I mainly tutored algebra to a freshman with learning disabilities, Josh. Josh was also prone to seizures under times of stress, which could be triggered when he got frustrated if he didn't understand something. These setbacks did not stop us from making him understand the subject to the point where he was scoring A’s and B’s by the end of the semester. Since Josh, I have had much easier tutees. I tutored a sophomore in geometry during my senior year, and finally, this year as a freshman in college, I have been meeting with two fellow students to help them in Spanish.
When it comes to my atlanta">tutoring approach, I stay as patient and as calm as possible, because chances are the student is more frustrated than I am. I believe in positive reinforcements and, most importantly, practice, practice, practice. When it comes to my favorite subjects: Spanish and math, the only way to truly master the subjects are to memorize the formulas, equations, vocabulary, or conjugations and then practice their applications and examples until the material comes naturally.
