Fun Facts

I love watching any sort of animal documentary especially ones about rarely seen animals. It's so interesting to see how animals develop their own social structures and live every day for survival. Also the data application that can be used to study animals and their habits is something I'm fascinated with. I've even modeled predator and prey populations using second order differentials with Python to see how different factors affect the growth and decline of codependent populations.

About Me

I am a senior at Emory University majoring in Physics with a minor in Mathematics. After graduation, I am doing Teach For America in the Metro Atlanta area where I will be teaching high school math.

Experience

I have tutored middle school students in math particularly basic algebra and trigonometry. I have also tutored high school students in varying levels of math from algebra 2 to calculus 2. Additionally, I have tutored high school students in both standard Physics and AP Physics.

Approach

I think for a student to succeed they should always have a solid understanding of the basics first. Even if it means slowing down, without a strong foundation in a subject it is difficult to grasp advanced topics. I'm also a strong proponent of conceptual knowledge. Often students will try to memorize specific problems and are unsuccessful when they encounter a similar but slightly different scenario. For this reason, a student should know how to approach a problem conceptually before solving.
