Fun Facts

Some fun facts about me include that I love both being active and playing video games. I have been mountain biking on my local trails for about three years now, and I recently started taking boxing and Krav Maga lessons a few months ago. Some video games I have been playing include Hearthstone, a new online card game, Diablo 3, and World of Warcraft.

About Me

I go to chicago">University of Illinois at Chicago and I'm majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Currently I'm a junior with a GPA of 3.91. I was awarded a S-Stem Scholarship from the Department of Chemical Engineering when I transferred from my community college, Moraine Valley. My future goals for my career include pursuing my MBA in order to become a general manager for either an industry or chemical engineering firm,

In high school, I was a peer chicago">tutor, apart of the group Mu Alpha Theta at Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL. As a junior I worked with freshmen and sophomores chicago">tutoring for math classes such as algebra/illinois/chicago">Pre Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry. I did that during my junior and senior years of high school. During that time, I tutored once or twice a week, working with either one or two students at a time. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicago">tutoring experience and would love to do it again.

My chicago">tutoring approach was to never tell the student how to complete the task. I tried to bring out the answer within and give them step by step advice on how to answer a question precisely, and use that knowledge to work on other problems. Although I haven't tutored since high school, I still occasionally help my high school sister on her homework. I make sure to give her enough tips and tricks to remember but not enough where she feels overwhelmed when a test is approaching. This is my chicago">tutoring technique.
