About Me
I am the logic tutor for the Philosophy Department at The washington-university">George Washington University. I believe that it's my job to teach the material, rather than try to make the student fit my lesson plan like a glove. Every student understands things differently - geometrically/visually, analytically/theoretically, etc. - and a tutor needs to present that material in a way the student can understand best.
I tend to approach a lesson by going over the theoretical material, then clearly showing an application by doing a sample problem. I then ask the student to solve a problem using the skill they just learned, and I provide guidance as needed. That way, I can see where the student has a difficulty, and provide assistance on the particular point of trouble so the student can solve the problem in my absence.
