Fun Facts

I love to travel. The time I spent studying abroad in France and Spain instilled in me a passion for traveling, cultural exploration, and language learning. Some of my favorite things to do while traveling are trying new foods and photography. I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and four cats. A few of my favorite things to do are reading, painting pottery, cooking and baking, skiing, kayaking, and rock climbing.

About Me

I am a recent graduate from Walla Walla University, where I pursued a double bachelors of art in French and International Communication with a Hispanic concentration. I have been on the dean's list every quarter in attendance at Walla Walla University. At Walla Walla University, I studied abroad in France and also in Spain. Next fall I will be starting my graduate studies at the denver">University of Denver in the International Development program. Ultimately, I would like to work in the non-profit sector or for an NGO or charity to create better education programs around the world.

After spending an academic year in France, I began working as a teacher's assistant and washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor in the French department at my university. I was responsible for preparing and grading tests and homework, washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring students, attending regular classes and assisting the professor with classroom activities, as well as teaching classes for the professor when he was absent. While in Walla Walla, I also volunteered at the local farm labor camp washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring children after school. Additionally, I worked as a private washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor for a French family. Their daughter was getting ready to spend a year in the US attending an English speaking school. I was responsible for teaching her conversational English and preparing her to start school the next fall. I have a passion for languages and working for Frog washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring would allow me to help students grow as well as be a positive influence in their lives.

When washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring, I seek to use positive reinforcement and encouragement to help the student. My goal is to help the student understand the subject matter in a way that fits their learning style and seeks to help them enjoy the subject. When washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring, I hope to help the student really learn the information and maintain the knowledge, instead of memorizing things that they will forget the next week. I hope to help them develop study skills and study tactics that work for them, that they can apply in the future.
