Fun Facts
I love dogs! Any breed, any size, I'm a huge fan of the pooches. I have a golden retriever and a chocolate lab. Also, I love to read in my free time, and my current favorite book series is Divergent. This year has been my first time living in the WIndy City and I am very much enjoying it. There is always something to do! The Art Institute is one of my favorite places in the city and I spend much of my time walking through galleries and admiring the paintings and sculptures.

Although not formally participating in chicago">tutoring through an established program, I have worked a lot with kids through my job as a lifeguard. I teach swim lessons in the summer and during the school year in high school I worked with younger high school students on chicago">tutoring for the ACT. Additionally I was the copy editor of my school newspaper and editor of my junior year class publication. I have a lot of experience in teaching how to write and read as well as sharing study and homework tips. Additionally I have been a high school mentor.
Throughout my academic career, many subjects never came naturally to me. My saving grace was my ability to manage my time effectively and my ability to put my pride aside and seek out help. As a child, I was often embarrassed to talk to my teachers or ask my schoolmates questions because I was afraid that I was the only one who didn't understand. Life has taught me that we all struggle to understand different concepts. As a chicago">tutor, I encourage students to never give up and I help them to realize that asking questions, and lots of them, is an essential part of the learning process. I also hope to inspire students to enjoy the learning process. When learning is examined with an open mind and an eagerness to gain new knowledge, learning can be an enlightening and enjoyable experience.
