Fun Facts

I am currently a freshman at DePaul University and a member of the Honors College.This first year has flown by, but I am enjoying every minute here in the windy city! A fun fact about me is that I am from an incredibly small town (pop. 1200) in Illinois near Starved Rock State Park and I love dancing ballet!

About Me

I am a very driven student and a very diligent worker. So far, my hard work has paid off here at DePaul, landing me on the Dean's list for both quarters that I have been here. I am majoring in Intercultural Communications with a minor in Community Service Studies. I am passionate about social justice and after graduation, I hope to devote a year or two to service before continuing my education and eventually entering the workforce.

This year, I have been fortunate enough to find an organization where I can volunteer my time chicago">tutoring students in an after school program in East Garfield Park. I visit the facility once a week for three hours and help students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade with their homework. I love the work that I do and have found it to be a very rewarding experience.

I believe that keeping a positive and encouraging attitude is central to helping a student succeed when chicago">tutoring. Fortunately, I have found that my patience has been an asset to guiding students to find new solutions and gain a better understanding of concepts. I also work hard to help them to understand why they are learning and why each topic is important to their education.
