Fun Facts

I love to travel when I can. I have been out of the country twice and multiple places in the US. I cannot wait to do more! I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, camping, road trips and trying anything new.
Some of my favorite elective classes in College were ceramics and ballroom dancing.

About Me

In Junior college I started out as a nursing major did all the science classes and biology then switched to Psychology did the classes required for that and transferred to Sacramento State. I graduated California State University-Sacramento in december with a BA in Psychology. I specifically studied behavior, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I was the first to graduate college in my family and I graduated with Honors with a 3.75.
I am looking at Grad schools trying to decide exactly what I want to do.

I do not have any paid sacramento">tutoring experience. However, while in school we would often form study groups in which I would go over material with fellow class mates to help them better understand the material. This would not only help them but me as well. I also was a Teaching Assistant for one of my professors at one point which required an A in both of his classes showing you mastered the material. I would give exams, answer questions from students help them understand the material and grade exams. Additionally, I have helped my nieces and nephews with home work or home school lessons on many occasions.

I think it is important for students to understand the material they are learning. A lot of material builds on itself, so if you just give them the answers and they do not understand why, it will not do them any good. It is important to me to break the material down so that they can have a good understanding of what is happening and why. Additionally, they will learn how to do this themselves and it will be extremely helpful in future classes. School can be very overwhelming and frustrating at times especially when you feel lost and have no idea what the teacher is talking about. I have been there and it is not fun. I would like to use the skills I have learned to help other students overcome this small bump in the road.
