Fun Facts

One of my favorite things to do is travel! I've been to Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, and of course North America, and I'm currently planning a trip to South America. When I'm not traveling or studying, I enjoy playing board games with friends and reading. I spend my summers in Okoboji, IA, working at a YMCA summer camp on the lake.

About Me

I am a junior Environmental Science and Environmental Policy major at chicago">Loyola University Chicago. I've been on the Dean's List for the past two years and have a 3.8 GPA in my major. After college, I plan on going to law school in order to become an environmental lawyer.

During high school, I had the opportunity to chicago">tutor several of my peers in chemistry, calculus, and Spanish, which my teachers at the time asked me to do. At that time I also tutored elementary school children who were part of a special after school program in math and writing skills. Now that I am in college, I have continued this practice on my own by chicago">tutoring individuals in statistics, pre-calculus, and Spanish. I hope to chicago">tutor much more consistently and apply the skills I have already learned to chicago">tutoring with Frog chicago">Tutoring!

I feel that the biggest obstacle to learning for most students is often that they need to hear a concept or idea explained in another way in order to understand it. With that in mind, my approach to chicago">tutoring is to try and explain the process or idea in a way different from the way their teacher explained it, and then to ask questions from there. I truly believe that allowing the student to work out their own way of answering the question at hand is always superior to just giving them the information, as this fosters understanding that can then be applied to unfamiliar situations or problems.
