Fun Facts
I love to improvise in many musical genera, including Gregorian Chant and renaissance polyphony. When I was younger I had a small group of musical friends who shared such interest and talent and we would busk around downtown Chicago, performing and improving early music and chant. I also love translating,( through recorded arrangements), pieces of music and themes into many various unexpected styles.
About Me
I'm Daniel Lucetta; Music Director, Cantor & Music Teacher at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rockdale and for the Latin Mass Community of Joliet, (Which rents out Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Naperville weekly), under Father Michael Magiera, a highly decorated professional opera singer turned priest. I regularly perform solo & lead small groups -thoroughly versed in not only the modern styles of music, but uniquely early music - and more specifically Gregorian Chant & renaissance polyphony
Experience
I have more than 20 years experience as a vocalist and private lesson instructor and have a great passion for teaching musicians of any instrument and all ages on how to practically apply music theory and ear training; how to sight reading at a performance level; improvising in classical, jazz, and popular music of all genera; composing/arranging in any style, as well as couching ensembles and developing repertoire and general musical skills for professional gigging and permanent performances
Approach
I love working with people of all personalities and developmental stages and am very perceptive at assessing a musician's levels, strengths and weaknesses and how to address where they are musically to the desired progress. I have a thorough knowledge of the physics and order of music and how to explain it towards a practical application. Because of my experience I can prep musicians on all of the technical as well as interior and subjective aspects to navigating a demanding performance schedule
