I have a passion for Politics and Music. I have played music for most of my 34 years, spending many years touring the country playing in a band. I love reading about history, as well as political and economic issues.

About Me

I am an Elementary Education major at Northeastern Illinois University. I am currently finishing up my Student Teaching at Murphy Elementary in Chicago, Illinois. Planned Endorsements include: Middle School Endorsement, English, Social Sciences, and Art.

I have spent the last 8 months at Murphy Elementary, for both Clinical Experience and Student Teaching. During this time I have had numerous opportunities to assist student growth in all the content areas, meeting in groups and individually with students before, during, and after school, to focus on areas of student need.

I believe students have varied learning styles, and as a teacher and chicago">tutor, it is important to be able to recognize these varied styles. Meta-cognition is key to finding success in academics, and as a teacher it becomes my job to play a guiding role in assisting students in understanding their own learning styles and areas of both strength and weakness.
