Fun Facts
I'm an only child who is probably a little too obsessed with baking, running, and reality shows. You can typically find me studying, out with friends, or at home working on my latest project. I have an irrational hatred for birds and olives, so if you in any way share those feelings we will probably get along great.
About Me
My name is Bianca, and I am an undergraduate student at Northwestern University! I'm currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Social Policy, and I'm pursuing a minor in Sociology. I hope to attend law school after graduation, preferably away from my lifelong home in Chicago, and fulfill my dream of adopting a dachshund puppy.
Experience
I have been tutoring for over two years, with a primary focus upon reading, writing, grammar, and standardized test preparation. My time as a classroom aide offered me experience in a large classroom setting, where I helped K-8 students with reading comprehension, spelling, and grammar. I have also worked extensively in one-on-one tutoring and have assisted with subjects related to ACT and SAT preparation, Advanced Placement coursework, and higher level classes.
Approach
Being a true humanities-oriented student, I'm extremely familiar with the stress that accompanies difficult or perceivably uninteresting classes. However, I've found that working to make these subjects more approachable can relieve much of the stress associated with them, and can even make their learning enjoyable! I heavily focus upon student pace and enjoyment in my lessons, and try to ensure that all students recognize one thing: they can overcome the most daunting, most terrifying topics!

ACT English Tutoring
I scored a 36 on the English section when taking the ACT a few years ago. My tutoring experiences have focused heavily upon its Reading and English sections, and I have significant familiarity with the question types, contents, and frequencies as they appear on the exam. I have resources that students may use to reference and remember the grammatical rules that are frequented on the exam, and have raised students' English and Reading scores by 4-6 points.
