Fun Facts

I absolutely love video games, books, and movies! Anything with a good story will keep me entertained for hours. I also have two dogs and two cats. I hope one day that I will be able to have fish as well!

About Me

I am a senior at Rutgers University that will be graduating with a Bachelor's in English this May. I am also currently enrolled in an accelerated Master's program for Education through the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers. I hope to be able to teach and spread my love of reading with my future students after I graduate.

Experience

I have taught for various after school and summer programs in the Plainfield Public Schools district. I currently am doing my student teaching at Paul Robeson Community School in brunswick">New Brunswick. I am also a certified substitute teacher in the Piscataway Public Schools district. These programs have been with students in 3rd through 11th grade.
As for state testing, I currently teach an SAT prep program through Rutgers University. I also scored advanced when I took my own Praxis exam.

Approach

As a child, I suffered from a lack of motivation and ADHD. I was fortunate enough to have encouraging teachers that pushed me to continue to do well. As a tutor, I attempt to help students with what they are struggling with but also try to be supportive of whatever their achievements may be. This creates a great student-teacher rapport where they are more willing to work with me and see that I am trying to help them. I do this because I want students to feel the same kind of support I did.
