About Me
I am currently a Senior studying Elementary Education at the denver">University of Denver. I am so glad that I decided to stay in Colorado for college as it is so nice to be close to my family, not to mention the amazing weather. I am an active, organized and fun loving person that loves to try and learn new things!
Since I am studying to be an elementary teacher I am currently student teaching at an elementary school within Denver Public Schools. I take every opportunity I get to work with students whether that be whole class lessons, small group work or one on one. I am amazed at how much I have learned about how kids learn and different ways to motivate them within the classroom. Outside of teaching I have been a nanny for many years and often work with the kids on reading and math during their summer breaks.
I have always loved learning, however, I have not always succeeded at it. I have faced many challenges throughout school whether that be test anxiety, falling behind and reading-comprehension/colorado/denver">reading comprehension. I think these challenges were the ones that inspired me to be a teacher. If it wasn't for patient teachers and denver">tutors there are many times when I would of just given up in a class. I know how important positive reinforcement, patience and multiple ways of explaining things can be for students and as a denver">tutor I plan to utilize those techniques while working with my tutee. I know that every child has the capacity to be successful and I strive to make every student believe that about themselves.
