Fun Facts
You will quickly find out that I am passionate about languages, nature and different cultures, and the origin of words. I have travelled extensively all over the world and have had many interesting experiences. I have also lived in several countries and can answer many questions you might have about them. Besides that I enjoy hiking, and conversing about many topics with my friends in person or online. I also read books about languages, etymology, and human nature.
About Me
I worked as a translator, interpreter, and language tutor/teacher for the young and adults. My French is so fluent that French people ask me where I live in Paris.... I attended The National School of Commerce of Paris where I obtained a trilingual Bachelor's degree, and Teachers College of Columbia University (NYC), where I received a Fulbright scholarship, and graduated with a Masters Degree in Languages & Literature in Spanish. I also hold certifications from various Chambers of Commerce.
Experience
I tutored classmates early on, and continued tutoring German and Spanish in France, French, Spanish, and German in the US, and English, French, and German in Mexico to children, high school kids, and adults in at the elementary, high school level, and beyond. As a translator, I have excellent knowledge of syntax, vocabulary, nuances, and a passion to share my knowledge with my students. I taught an entire year of college in just a few months to some students, and fluent Spanish in 20 hours.
Approach
As a child I found that reading out loud over and over again helped me tremendously in fixing the new sounds in my memory. This created an excellent basis for building up vocabulary and for easily learning the syntax. I often start with topics my students enjoy, which is a great way to memorize vocabulary and increase it. I am very good at identifying students' weak spots, which I remedy so that he/she will be equipped with a rock-solid base to build upon all of his/her life.
